Betway is managed by Betway Limited (hereinafter referred to as Betway). Betway is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and ensuring your security when you use our Services. This Privacy Policy is to help you understand what we do with your data and how we protect and process it.

  • a copy of a utility bill or bank statement. This data is collected for the prevention and detection of fraud, to comply with our legal obligations and to pursue our legitimate interests.
  • a record of all internet communications and details of your visits to our Websites. This data is collected for the prevention and detection of fraud, to comply with our legal obligations, for performance of a contract and to pursue our legitimate interests.
  • technical information relating to how you use our products, such as the type of device you are using and the browser you are using to access our Websites. This is where the processing is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interest to display and guarantee the stability and security of the Website;
  • payment information and details of transactions you carry out through the site, including your payment, withdrawals and wagers. This data is collected for the prevention and detection of fraud, to comply with our legal obligations and to pursue our legitimate interests. 
  • communications with us or our employees, for examples, calls, emails, and messages sent through the live chat service. This processing is to meet our legal obligations and for the performance of contract;

  • any additional  information you submit through the website for example on forums via your social profile, chat rooms, comment sections or in response to quizzes and questionnaires. This is processed due to legal obligations and to pursue our legitimate interests.

  • Sometimes we may also request photo ID, proof of address, and source of funds. This processing is due to our legal obligations;

If you visit our Website just to browse, and you are not a customer or choose not to register with us, we will only collect the personal data which your browser transfers to us and is technically necessary to display our Website and to guarantee its stability and security. This is necessary to meet our legitimate interests and legal obligations. The data collected includes but is not limited to:

How we use your personal data

We use your personal data to try and provide you with the ultimate Betway experience whilst ensuring we meet regulatory requirements, legal obligations and business related requirements. We process your personal data for the purposes of:

We may share some of your personal data, including your first name, last name, DOB and address with a Credit Reference Agency, such as Schufa, so that we can carry out an affordability check on you, where we are required by licencing obligations, the law and in order to ensure that we are meeting our responsible gambling obligations. This check may leave a search footprint, but please note that this will not affect your credit score.

  • Identifying and verifying customers;

This includes the identification and verification of individuals under anti-money laundering legislation, ensuring customers are over 18 and to comply with responsible gambling rules and initiatives. To verify your age and the details that you registered your account with as well as ensuring that you are not registered on the OASIS player blocking file. For these purposes we may disclose such information to approved third parties with appropriate safeguards in place. They will only use your personal data for the purpose they are instructed to. This is required to meet our legal obligations.

  • Legal and regulatory obligations;

We are required to process and retain your personal data including but not limited to your full name, account number, date and place of birth, place of residence and location to prevent fraudulent activity, to detect and/or investigate crimes, to carry out affordability checks, to check that you are not registered on the OASIS player blocking file and to ensure responsible gambling. 

We are obligated to report a player exclusion, whether self or imposed by Betway to OASIS. Your personal data with the reasons and duration of the exclusion will be transferred as per your agreement to our Terms and Conditions.

We are also obligated to connect to and share your personal data related to your betting account activity with Regulator Interstate Gambling Evaluation System “LUGAS SAFE” and so-called “LUGAS central files” (consisting of the activity file and the limit file). Your personal data required for the purposes of player protection and monitoring of the cross-provider deposit limit as well as for prevention of parallel play will be passed on to the operator of “LUGAS SAFE” and “LUGAS central files”, the Joint Gambling Supervisory Authority of the Länder (AöR), Hansering 15, 06108 Halle, Germany.

The processing of your personal data is carried out in accordance with the legal requirements. An increase in the cross-provider deposit limit is only possible in conjunction with increased monitoring for suspicious gambling behaviour.

Betway is required by law to notify the supervisory authority of those customers whose monitoring indicates a gambling addiction risk or gambling addiction. Who we share your personal data with

How we store your personal data

Betway is incorporated in Malta and your data is stored within the European Economic Area (“EEA”) on our servers. Keeping your Customer Account safe

When you create a Customer Account with us, we ask You to choose a password. We use password protection to ensure your Customer Account remains safe and secure at all times and can only be accessed by you.

We highly recommend that You choose a password that is strong and not easy to guess, and it is good practice to change your password regularly and to not use the same password that you use with other sites. You should never share your username and password details with anyone. If you suspect your password has been disclosed to anyone, please reset it immediately to ensure your Customer Account remains safe.
