Following changes in German legislation, sports betting providers have had to pay a tax on all sports betting transactions since 1 July 2012.
All winnings (stake + bet winnings) from won sports bets that placed by players residing in Germany will be charged with a 5.3% betting tax deduction ("deduction").
The potential winnings (stake + bet winnings) shown on the bet slip do not include the subsequent deduction of 5.3%.
The 5.3% deduction will only be subtracted after the settlement of the respective bet.
The 5.3% deduction is also subtracted from winnings where bets were placed using a free bet (fee refers only to the actual winnings).
If a player requests a withdrawal of winnings (stake + bet winnings) before the 5.3% deduction has been subtracted from the winnings (and there would not be enough funds left in the account to cover the 5.3% deduction after the withdrawal), the withdrawal will be cancelled in its entirety.
If a player places another bet before the 5.3% fee has been deducted from the winnings (and there is not enough funds left in the account to cover the 5.3% deduction after the placement), the bet will be void.
In both cases, players will be notified by Betway Customer Support that a bet or withdrawal has been cancelled.
If you have any questions or need more information, you can always contact our customer service.
Note: All deductions are made at the discretion of Betway.
